Tofu Construction in Harbi
The worth 18 billion Chinese yuan project, Yangmingtan Bridge, which is linking on the Songhua River in Heilongjiang Province, suddenly collapsed on August 24, 2012 (17:50pm), killing three and injures 5 people. The bridge was built only 9 months after local officials of the
have praised its project in newspapers frequently (Zhongguo Qingnian Bao 25 August 2012). The Japanese media have
suggested that the corruption of the Chinese high officials have caused the
bridge while the Chinese media have also begun to suspect the “Tofu”
construction (Kyodo News 25 August
2012). The “Tofu” construction has become famous when a number of schools were destroyed
in the Sichuan Earthquake in 2008 while many government building including
police station and city hall were well stood. However, none has gone into jails
due to the “Tofu” construction since the earthquake. Will anyone in Heilongjiang Heilongjiang Province
take responsibility in
after three people were killed? Can anyone in China guarantee that PLA does not
have “Tofu” system? China
