Which Country Will Be The First-VII
In the Asian region, no one expects that China has the largest carrier in the region. According to the Japan Times (14 May 2010) China Southern Airlines is Asia’s largest carrier by passenger numbers after overtaking troubled Japan Airlines (JAL). In fact, China Southern overtook JAL in 2008, rising to 58.24 million, and reached a total of 66.3 million passengers in 2009. Meanwhile, JAL carried 46.87 million passengers in 2008, and 41.98 million in 2009. China Southern is less well known internationally, but it focuses on shorter-haul domestic services in China.
