The Third United Front CCP-KMT-VII
During the Chinese parliament meeting in March, Hong Kong based newspaper, Ta Kung Pao (5 March 2009), published an interesting article from a member of the Chinese army. Lin Xianshun, Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the PLA’s Beijing Military Region Air Force, openly appealed to the public that both sides of the Taiwan Strait should join on the armed forced to act internationally to protect the common interests of the Chinese territories including Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea and Nansha (Spratly) Archipelago in the South China Sea (Ta Kung Pao). Both CCP and KMT will not have problems in terms of protecting the Chinese sovereignty. Will the third united front CCP-KMT be seen in the East China Sea and the South China Sea soon?
After growing up and studying in China and Japan, Dr. Suganuma went to the U.S. for graduate studies, earning master’s degrees at both St. John's University (in Chinese studies) and Syracuse University (in international relations) as well as a Ph.D. (in geography) from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.
