The Third United Front CCP-KMT-IV
On June 16, the United States pressed Japan and Taiwan to use “restraint” and to resolve the heated dispute over a ship collision in the surrounding water of the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands. Even though Japan expressed “regret” and offered to pay the “Lienhe” captain Ho Hung-yi, the Taiwanese regime dispatched nice patrol boats and intruded into Japanese territorial waters for 2-2.5 hours near the disputed islands. Some Taiwanese lawmakers want to send its navy to the East China Sea. Ironically, the Taiwanese military weapons including Aegis-class destroyer and F-16 were sold by the United States, supposed to defend Taiwan against mainland China if it used force to resolve the unification issue. However, these weapons could be used against one of the American allies, Japan. Geopolitical speaking, the Chinese from the Taiwan Strait or the Third United Front CCP-KMT can easily unite against foreigners including both Japan and the U.S. regarding the territorial sovereignty issue of the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea because the CHINESE share the same view regarding this issue – one of Chinese sovereignty.
After growing up and studying in China and Japan, Dr. Suganuma went to the U.S. for graduate studies, earning master’s degrees at both St. John's University (in Chinese studies) and Syracuse University (in international relations) as well as a Ph.D. (in geography) from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.
