The Third United Front CCP-KMT-II
Two Chinese: Chiang Kai-shek and Mao Zedong loathed each other for more than half a century; as a result supporters of the two sides have almost killed each other on many occasions. After nearly 60 years of hostility between Taiwan and mainland China, Taiwan and China have entered an agreement on June 13, 2008, on cross-strait charter flight and tourism after Chen Yunlin, Head of Mainland Affair Council, and Chiang Pin-kun, Head of the Straits Exchange Foundation shook hands with each other. This deal will result in 26 charter flights to cross the Taiwan Strait running from Friday to Monday beginning July 4th. However, this historical day will also present great pressure for mainland China since Taiwan is asking for "more international space." Now, Hu Jintao is going to show his political muscle enabling Taiwan's participation in many international in many international bodies, such as WHO and WTO.
