SM-3 Interceptors/Test Obama-XX
George N. Lewis from Cornell University and Theodore A. Postol from MIT published their article titled “A Flawed and Dangerous U.S. Missile Defense Plan” in Arms Control Today(May 2010) published by the Arms Control Association, a private group in Washington, D.C. The Pentagon claimed the rocket-powered interceptor SM-3 (which Japan is also participated) hit 84 percent of incoming targets in tests. However, Professors Lewis and Postol found the results of a success rate of 10-20 percent by re-examination. Ironically, the Pentagon came out to defend its record by forcefully discrediting the paper. Bureaucrats do not want take any responsibility, but only spend tax payers’ money to make “successful tests.”
