National Energy Commission/Test Obama-XVIII
While the 44th President of the United States addresses his state of union to the American people by focusing on his “job initiative” on 27 January 2010, China’s State Council has decided to set up a National Energy Commission (NEC). Premier Wen Jiabao will be the head of the commission, and the NEC committee is composed of 21 members from various ministries and agencies including Vice Premier Li Keqiang and the Head of China’s Central Bank Zhou Xiaochuan. In addition, the military generals from the PLA (Zhang Xinsheng) were also included among the 21 members. Clearly, energy development has become China’s national security issue, a step of ahead of the US.
