Club of the 2008 Recession
Besides New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong, Japan became the latest member to join the 2008 Recession Club. On November 17, 2008, Japan posted its second consecutive quarter of negative economic growth, indicating a recession for the first time since 2001. Less than two months after taking office, Aso Taro faces tough decisions regarding revitalizing the Japanese economy. Who will be the next member of the 2008 Recession? China?
