China's Hegemony/The Chinese Way of Hegemony-VIII
Recently, Maureen Callahan published an article in New York Post (17 January 2010) titled “Don’t Panic: because China won’t overtake the US as the world’s superpower.” The Americans began to fear China would overtake the US, just as similar to fears Russian military during the cold war and Japanese economy in the 1980s. “China still lags far behind the US, both economically and militarily – the latter, too, an oft-overlooked point.” Certainly, China does not have 55%-28% of global output, and 11 aircraft carriers, as well as 7-8,000 nuclear warheads. It is also true that China might not seek the American “hegemony” which sticks its nose everywhere in global politics.
