Can BRIC Be Superpowers???/BRIC-I
Since the financial meltdown on Wall Street, a popular word has suddenly appeared in the Asian media. That is “BRIC”!!! From the Chinese Phoenix TV to the Japanese newspapers, even in the airline magazine such as United Leader’s Review (in Japanese language November 10-January 9 issue, pp. 16-19), published the article about the BRIC. The word, BRIC, represents Brazil, Russia, India, and China. Sometimes, the media add “s” into the BRIC, as BRICs, whose “s” is signified the “next eleven nations,” including Philippines, Iran, Nigeria, and Vietnam. In Chinese, BRIC is called Sikuai Jinzhuan, Four Golden Bricks. According to the Goldman Sacks Report the BRIC will overtake G7 (Group Industry Nations) by the middle this century, in terms of GDP because with stable political environment, the BRIC has vast land, huge population, and abounding national resources. According to PHP Institute in Japan the GDP of the BRICs will catch to the G7 by 2030, much earlier than the Goldman Sacks prediction. Will BRIC save this financial mess which created by the USA? Will BRIC be the next superpower after Pax Americana?
